Andhra Govt works only for VIPs !!!

Even as the Hyderabad police is under tremendous pressure for a breakthrough in the successive terror attacks, security experts say the state police has perhaps foccused on Naxalism to the neglect of ISI-backed terrorism.

That's why perhaps targets like VIPs and the state secretariat are well protected and terrorists are striking soft targets.

On Saturday terrorists had managed to strike with impunity once again. It was exactly 100 days since the blasts in Mecca Masjid.

''Both cases are not solved yet. Therefore the second incident happened. We are worried now for Ganesh Chaturthi and Ramzan when huge crowds gather,'' said Asaduddin Owaisi, MP, Hyderabad.

Experts say mere security checks cannot prevent a terror attack like the one on Saturday.

That can be prevented only with sophisticated intelligence provided by a dedicated police force.

''We need a specially trained, highly motivated team with adequate resources at their disposal that will be with state intelligence and city police,'' said C Anjaneya Reddy, Former IG, Intelligence.

Analysts say the law and order machinery in Andhra Pradesh has focussed on Naxal extremism perhaps to the neglect of Islamic fundamentalist-inspired terrorism.

To its credit, the state has managed to curb Naxalism with a Special Intelligence Bureau and greyhound Naxals raised to focus on Naxals.

Now the need is to develop core competence to deal with ISI-backed terrorism.

The launch of the Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle, GSLV-F04, from here on Sunday turned out to be "a sweet success," with the launch vehicle lifting off flawlessly and injecting the communication satellite, INSAT-4CR, in its pre-determined orbit.

ISRO Chairman G. Madhavan Nair said the ISRO team did "a fantastic job" after the failure of the GSLV mission in 2006. He appreciated "the precision with which this mission performed the job."

B.N. Suresh, Director, Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre, Thiruvananthapuram, described the launch as "a sweet success." It showed that the GSLV was a robust vehicle, whose systems performed as expected.

It was a remarkable comeback for the ISRO after the failure of the GSLV on July 10, 2006. It was the third consecutive successful mission this year.
