Sharukh and Sania

Ram! Are you there?

Lord Rama, revered by millions across the world, now the subject of a bitter political  controversy. The Congress feels archaeologists can't prove his existence. The BJP says there’s no need to prove anything of the kind.

The debate has now assumed archaeological overtones. While the Congress is going into a hasty damage control, the BJP is out to score political points. The debate revolves around the Sethusamudram project, a proposed water canal system that would have reduced travel time between the north and the eastern coast by half.

So what’s Lord Ram got to do with it?

The project would actually end up destroying an underwater bridge believed to have been built by Lord Ram and his vaanar sena to get to Lanka and rescue Sita.

So, BJP rushed to the rescue of the Ram Sethu. "It’s an insult to Hindu religion, the government must immediately withdraw the affidavit,” said BJP leader L K Advani.

Ever since the BJP was voted out of power, there have been many who feel that the party's close identification with Ram and Ram temple have now become an unwanted baggage.

Now as the party gets set for another bout of fighting over Ram, it might just have made a return to what was once its pet issue.

Crack the Puzzle: Life door and Death door

There is a prisoner who is about to be executed. The king decides to give him one last chance to live.

There are 2 doors, the life door and the death door. There is one guard standing by each door. Those two guards know which door is the life door and which is the death door. However, one of them always tells the truth and the other always tells a lie. There is no way you can identify which door is the life door or the death door. There is no way you can distinguish who is the one telling the truth.

The prisoner can only ask one guard one question. Then he needs to choose a door to walk in. If he walks in the death door, then he will be executed. If he walks in the life door, he can have a new life.

He did choose the life door and lived. What was the question he asked? How did he choose the door after he got the answer from one of the guards?

Windies out of Twent 20 World Cup

T-20 transformer gave another shock. The young Bangladeshi team under Mohammad Ashraful sent the West Indies tumbling out of the Twenty20 World Championship by winning its Group A match on Thursday at the New Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg.

Set 165 runs to win, Bangladesh reached the target losing just four wickets with two overs to spare.

Bangladesh were never in trouble though the first three overs yielded just 12 runs. But once Aftab Ahmed and skipper Mohammad Ashraful got together after the loss of the opening pair, it became clear there would only be one winner.

Both Aftab Ahmed and Ashraful played some cheeky shots to leave make the life of the West Indies players miserable.

Ahmed was the first off the blocks hitting pacer Ravi Rampaul for a six and a four in the fourth over and then Ashraful took over sending the ball past the boundary ropes four times in the next over that was bowled by Daren Powell.

After that it was mayhem with the West Indies bowlers and fielders watching helplessly as the ball kept on crossing the boundary at regular intervals.

Though Ashraful was finally caught by Chris Gayle off Ramnaresh Sarwan but his 61 runs off just 27 balls with the help of seven fours and three sixes had made sure that only a miracle could save the West Indies from catching the flight back home.
